Zero Days / Fool’s Bash
Well we have been taking zero days (no hiking miles are accomplished) since Thursday so JJ can heal up his leg and we can get back out there. We started to feel bad about not hiking like it is going to impede our progress but the advice we have received by many experienced hikers is […]

Oh the Southern Hospitality of Hiawasse, GA
Well, it has been four days since we were in Neels Gap and the Thru-Hiker trail life just keeps getting better and more exciting. The morning at Neels Gap was really cool. The guy who was running the hostel, Pirate, made a sausage biscuits and gravy breakfast with bagels, oatmeal, eggs and more. JJ and […]

First update from the trail: the boys in peril at a dry county

Well, our start date has changed since my first post. Thursday, March 20 we will be leaving Athens and heading to just North of Atlanta where we are staying the night with JJ’s old boss who lives about 50miles south of the approach trail to Springer. We will be then starting the trail Friday morning. […]

Big Lots has great deals on chow
I went to Big Lots today to pick up some loose ends and found myself very pleased with the food section. I’ve shopped at Big Lots many times over the years but have only picked up food on a few occasions but my Mom swears by it for some items. I picked up tons of […]

The A.T. on GoogleEarth
It seems no matter how obscure you may think something to be you can always find it on the internet so always give it a shot. I took a shot and wanted to see if they had any type of representation of the A.T. in GoogleEarth and I was pleasantly surprised. I not only […]
