Big Lots has great deals on chow

I went to Big Lots today to pick up some loose ends and found myself very pleased with the food section. I’ve shopped at Big Lots many times over the years but have only picked up food on a few occasions but my Mom swears by it for some items. I picked up tons of stuff for making my own trail mix at very reasonable prices. Trail mix packaged by itself is quite expensive as I am sure most people have found but by buying the pieces individually you can triple or quadruple the amount of food for your buck. I personally picked up a ton of honey roasted soy nuts at $1. These 8oz bags contain 75g or 150% the daily recommendation of protein, a good amount of calories and fat as well. Surprisingly enough they aren’t very high in sodium or sugar either. Other items I picked up included a 2lb bucket of peanuts for $2.50, various bags of dried fruit, sunflower seeds, chocolate covered raisins, and chocolate covered peanuts. I really wanted to pick up a bag of bulk M&M’s but they didn’t have a bag without the individually wrapped ones. Thats the beauty of Big Lots though these things change from store to store and over time so if you are looking for some cheap trail snacks, try Big Lots.
