Online advertising has its' complications

December 27, 2009

mistargeted_ad As you have may have noticed before online advertising and adsense is a bit misdirected sometimes. Facebook in general can really have some silly ads based on what you have been looking ad or your apps. This particular gem comes from a weather website called weatherbonk. Weather.com refered me there to see some webcames of impending snowy doom. Anyway moral of the story is this ad is hilarious.

IR.net - Just one more feature

December 24, 2009

Well one more feature was requested for interpersonal relations which is page branching. Essentially having the user go down multiple paths based on their responses. I suppose this is as good as time to announce a project that is going to develop from this one which is currently code named "survey simian." We are going to have very strong start on a fully functing CMS for a user site. There is a large market for surveys on the web, the current industry leader is survey monkey, hence the relevence of our code name. We plan to take a good deal of the code we have written, repurpose some parts, redo others, and vastly expand to the point where a user can create an account with us, create a survey, and then share it with the world.

Animation and Video Content Up

December 24, 2009

Content was posted on the animation and audio/video pages. It is likely that audio/video will just be video unless something happens so I might change that in the bar. I added a total of four pieces that I had up on vimeo. I might have a few more but these are definitely the most complicated and developed examples I currently have of the two categories.

Athena Grand Basketball Banner

December 15, 2009

My boss at the Athena Grand asked me to create a graphic for a large scale banner that we plan on hanging at a local schools high school basketball games. We are sponsoring the half court half time shoot out so the idea would be that it is a nice visual piece for when that is going on. It is not the most complicating thing but I think it effectivly communicates its message, carries out the visual styles of the movie theater, and has a solid heirachy of information. A couple of challenges were working with a photoshop file much larger than I had ever before and having to revectorize the logo because all we had was the logo graphic on the website.

Interpersonal Relations almost ready to launch

December 07, 2009

Well I have been in planning and working phases of interpersonalrelations.net for almost 6 months now but is really awesome in my opinion. I have learned so many new things and feel really back into the whole web design world. Along with my partner Karl we have poured well over 500 man hours into the site. Its been great and I can't wait to get it live. I suppose you can participate in beta testing for now if you like and leave any feedback at the end.

To serve this royalty right, you must post new content

August 19, 2009

The beginging of web design content is starting to go up now. Just pages that are live on the internet that I can link. No descriptions yet but at least there are links. This is all pretty painless now that I am in the roll of things. Freaking stoked about going to go see the amazing Cody Chesnutt tonight at apparently San Diego's best venue in town Belly Up. I guess with the advent of the last statement I may choose to write personal things on here from time to time.

Graphic Design Section up and Live

August 19, 2009

So I now have my graphic design section live. There are currently 8 pieces up that I have made and I am considering putting a few more up. Its starting to feel pretty good to have some of my work up and I know it will turn out to benefit me in the long run. I know pictures of pirates are cool but that generally doesn't help you get a job. As of just posting this now I am begining to worry that my portfolio pages will be too much like the front door and I may have to do something about that. Still not completely inlove with this site design but I figure I need to finish out with this before I go and redesign.

Yesterdays Progress

August 18, 2009

Well I didn't finish too much yesterday but I did clean up the layout and change some styles. I put content up on this index page that wasn't just fake as well as getting some bio on the about, and filling out the contact page. I also got the script on the contact form on the contact page working. Today I have been starting to style how the portfolio pages will lay out. I have started content in the graphic design section. To the side is a line art I did of myself a while ago for fun and have decided to use that as the image that represent myself on the about page for now.

Another push for content and design

August 17, 2009

Let's give this another try. I am starting to clean things up some. My content is prepared I just need to figure out how I want to display it. Look for an actual update to hopefully be made later today.

Website Coming Soon

July 2, 2009 by Ryan

Well I've got the layout. Now I just need to populate it with content. Ahh, this always seems to be the hard part. I'm not sold on this, but it's better than ninjas and pirates which what my design had been rocking for about 3 years.
